Welcome! I’m Carissa, I hold a Master of Public Health degree specializing in epidemiology. I work as a full-time epidemiologist and love what I do! What is an epidemiologist you ask?
Well according to the World Health Organization (WHO) epidemiology is the study of the distribution and determinants of health-related states or events (including disease), and the application of this study to the control of diseases and other health problems. Various methods can be used to carry out epidemiological investigations: surveillance and descriptive studies can be used to study distribution; analytical studies are used to study determinants.
The less complicated version is that I study trends of disease among the population. I have a passion for healthy living and more sustainable and eco-friendly options. I’m on a mission to share safer, cleaner, healthier options which is why I started this blog. I hope you will find the information I share helpful and use it to make small changes toward a healthier future. I’m on this journey with you as I continue to learn more about ways I can chance our daily routines to create a healthier environment and have better overall health and wellness.
